2023 Grant Recipients

  • B.I.G. Change

This vote will give all Australians the chance to come together and consider a change to our constitution that will honour and celebrate the rights, history, and ongoing relationship of Indigenous Australians with this land. The voice will be an independent representative advisory body made up of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It will give independent advice to government on the issues affecting Indigenous communities, which will lead to better outcomes.

    $500,000

  • B.I.G. Change

In partnership with Pasifika communities, scientists, economists, and data-visualisation experts, EDO will establish a new methodology to determine the true intergenerational costs of climate change. The true costs value cultural connection and identity, stewardship of ecological systems and other losses of inheritance associated with traditional knowledge and Indigenous lifeways, which have sustained Pasifika and Indigenous people for thousands of years.

    $500,000

  • B.I.G. Future

Many Australians feel deeply concerned yet powerless when it comes to climate change. The Better Futures Australia program establishes sector working groups, fostering collaboration among those with shared concerns, enabling them to enhance their sector's climate ambition and amplify their own voices to be heard by decision-makers. These groups serve as a platform for collective advocacy, strengthening the national response to climate change.
