IMPACT REPORT | 2021
In this our final year of giving to multiple recipients, before we moved to our new model of one big bet, we saw the end of many multi year grants and long term partnerships. We supported education for girls, indigenous issues, LGBTQ+ rights, advocacy and legal representation, women’s empowerment programs, bushfire recovery, climate initiatives as well as making our first step in to journalism as a tool for change. We grew our investment portfolio towards greater impact and we employed an impact manager to keep track of our work and how we can always improve. We continued to put the work of our partners first once Covid 19 hit by moving the funding to untied so they could pivot and use the funds as needed and we awarded our first $1 million grant.

RELAUNCH BROCHURE | 2021
In 2021 we officially launched the Barlow Impact Group. (B.I.G.) We wanted to reimagine the way people think about philanthropy. For real change to happen 100% of our resources will now be dedicated to achieving social outcomes. Impact investing, large capacity building grants, concessional loans and shared ideas and knowledge are all necessary in order to achieve maximum impact.
THE FIRST FIVE YEARS | 2014-2019
The Barlow Foundation, now the Barlow Impact Group was born in 2014. In the first five years we granted $4.3 million focusing on the education of women and girls throughout Australia and SE Asia. We also began our transition towards 100% impact invested.
GRANTING | 2020
In the financial year 2020/21, the final year as The Barlow Foundation we granted over $1, 041, 000 to 21 different organisations across issues of gender equality, education, health, environmental causes, advocacy and Covid-19 relief. Click on image above for more detail.
